eBay for Stay at Home Moms

If you are a stay at home mom you may be getting the urge to do something more with yourself. You may want to make a bit of money while staying at home with the kids all day.

One of the best ways for any stay at home mom to make money is by using eBay. This may sound a bit far fetched, but the fact of the matter is that thousands of people have turned eBay into a full-time job. And to take this a step further, there are many people who have become millionaires by using eBay to buy and sell items. If you work hard at it, you can be next in line for the profits that are being made on eBay everyday of the week.

At this point you may be wondering how eBay can make you money. This is something that a lot of people have on their mind. Using eBay to make money is quite simple. You will list items for sale, and then wait for other people to bid on them, or purchase at a predetermined price.
But in order to get started with this you will need to have items that you can place for sale on eBay. There are a few ways that you can go about getting these items.

1. To find items to sell on eBay you may want to become a regular at garage sales and flea markets in your area. At these events you can buy items for cheap, and then turn around and sell them for a large profit on eBay. This is one option that a lot of stay at home moms opt for when looking for items that they can sell on eBay

2. Another option to consider is making your own products, and then listing them on eBay. For instance, some people make crafts such as candles and then list them for sale. You may not think that there is a large audience for this type of thing, but there are many people that make a lot of money doing just that.

3. Stay at home moms can get their start on eBay by selling items that they have laying around the house. Chances are that your garage or attic is full of junk that you no longer use. But just because you think that the items you have are junk does not mean that somebody else will. By just selling items that you have in your home you may be able to get your start on eBay. And with the money that you initially make, you can then in turn buy more items. Pretty soon you will notice that your profits are growing.

Saving Money: Possible Tax Deductions for Home Businesses

If you operate your own home business, then you are probably aware that there a few drawbacks to being self-employed. Working for yourself often means that you lose many workplace benefits, such as group insurance, sick leave, paid vacations, etc. However, the government does provide solace to those who have an entrepreneurial spirit, and this solace comes in the form of tax breaks. There are many possible tax deductions for home businesses; you simply have to be well-informed about them.

Why should you go through the trouble? Well, because you’ll earn more money that way. By knowing all the possible tax deductions that you can take, you’ll come away with more of the benefits that your business generates, instead of getting cleaned out by the government. When it comes to taxes, make no mistake about it – knowledge is power.

If you run a home business, some of the possible tax deductions for you are:

Home office costs, such as those that involve office repairs and maintenance. Expenses racked up through janitorial services, for example, when shown to be needed by the business, are deductible, as are waste management and garbage disposal services. Business furniture and equipment may also qualify for deductions in their year of purchase, as long as the amount does not exceed a certain limit.

Utility costs, such as electricity and water. The deduction applies to those areas that are used regularly and exclusively for business.

Telephone costs. This only applies if you have a separate line for use in business. A single line that is used for both business and personal calls does not qualify. However, if you make long distance calls and/or incur fax transmission fees, those expenses are deductible not matter which type of phone you use.

Rent or lease payments. A percentage of your rent, lease, or mortgage interest payments can be deductible provided that you are using the property regularly for business purposes.

Employee wages and employee benefits. If you are an employer of labor, you can deduct a portion of your salary and benefit expenses. Employee education and training costs are also deductible.

Education costs necessary in your line of work. This applies especially to professionals. Those who need continuing education to maintain their expertise may deduct the cost of this education from their tax returns.

Real estate taxes on business property. A portion of real estate taxes are considered deductible by the IRS.

Personal expenses. Some personal expenses, when conducted in conjunction with business affairs, are deductible. A portion of your automobile expenses, meal allocations, and travel and entertainment cots may qualify for deduction, as log as they are related to your business.

A final reminder: Try to maintain as accurate records as is possible. Document your deposits, income, expenses and deductions. This way, you will have proof validating your tax deductions. Because tax laws are complex and often change, it is often advisable to consult a professional. This will allow you to claim as many possible tax deductions for home businesses as you can.

Cheap Advertising for Home Business:

Inexpensive Ideas That Can Boost Your Profits

Advertising costs can quickly pile up, especially if you are a small home business. Getting exposure on TV or radio seems out of the question – where can one possibly find cheap advertising for home businesses? The cause seems so hopeless that many of us give up before we even begin.

This article argues that many home business owners are overlooking many inexpensive opportunities to promote their businesses and increase their sales. Many of these suggestions have been proven to work, and require but a little ingenuity and imagination. Using these ideas, you should be able to improve your visibility, without spending more than you have to.

Give something for free. People love free stuff. No matter what business you are in, if you offer something for free, chances are that you’ll get to meet more potential customers. A lot of businesses have found it worthwhile to issue coupons. If you are a service provider, try issuing a coupon for an hours worth of your service. You’ll be surprised how many turn up to take you up on you offer. If you are engaged in selling products, issue coupons that your customers can use to avail of a discount.

Print some stickers. Stickers are a very cost-efficient way of “getting the word out.” Ask some of your family, friends, and current customers to display your stickers prominently in their cars or personal belongings. When combined with a catchy slogan or perhaps an excellent business offer, your stickers will bring you business far above what it cost you to print them, which will be just a few dollars. This is an excellent example of cheap advertising for home businesses.

Personalize your receipts. Most businesses use rather lackluster or generic designs on their receipts. You can take advantage of this situation. By getting your creative juices flowing and adding a little advertising into your receipts, your company will stand out in your customer’s minds. Use your receipts to remind customers of what you stand for. Inform them of any upcoming events or special offers. This way, whenever your customers rifle through their records, they’ll consider sending some business your way.

Send some cards. This is a little courtesy that top salesmen have used for years. First, you get some of your customer’s personal information, such as their birthdates, anniversary dates, their address, etc. Then you simply send them some cards during their important days, such as when they are celebrating their anniversaries, or when they have a new child. By sending cards to your customers, you make them like you better, making it more likely that they will do business with you.

How To Use "Viral Marketing" To Generate More Traffic

Copyright (c) 2006 Quick Turn Marketing International,
Ltd.

Have you ever visited a site, like what you see… and
then told your friends about it?

OR

Have your friends ever told you about an interesting
or useful site they've visited in the last 30 days?

I'll bet this happens almost every day, or at least
weekly. Believe it or not there is actually a method
to this madness. These seemingly random acts of
"kindness" or referral may actually dramatically
impact your business.

OK Dan, so what are you talking about, right?

I am talking about Viral Marketing. Viral marketing is
key to your business. It is a simple and effective
tool you can use to drive traffic to your site,
without spending thousands of dollars implementing
more expensive marketing tools.

How can you take advantage of viral marketing?

The easiest to make your visitors tell their friends
and relatives about your site is by implementing a
"tell-a-friend" script.

If done correctly, a "tell-a-friend" script is one of
the most powerful traffic-generation strategies you'll
ever use. And it's FREE!

Here's how it works…

You ask your visitors to enter the name and e-mail
address of friends and relatives they think will be
interested in your site. Then, the script
automatically sends a personalized e-mail promotion
your site to all their friends from the visitor.

Now how are you going to get your visitors to enter
the names of their friends and relatives that may have
an interest in your site? Simple… Give them an
incentive. Make them an offer. Tell them WHY they
should refer their friends.

You can't just expect your visitors to enter
information. Remember they are giving up some of their
free time to refer other people to you. You have to
make it worth their while. You have to sell it.

If you want to watch the way I do it, go to:
http://www.websiteconversionexpert.com/tellafriend.html

Don't forget, you also have to provide your customers
with practical and useful content. You want
information on your site your visitors truly believe
will benefit their friends.

After all, they don't want to look like an idiot, and
neither do you! If you don't provide good content, in
fact if you provide anything but the best, I don't
care what "bribes" you offer… your visitors won't
refer anybody to you.

By doing this you can simply and easily virally grow
your list automatically!

Where do you find "tell a friend" scripts? You could
get some free tell a friend scripts if you do a Google
search.

This is the script I use is:

http://www.tafpro.com

And if you technical dummy like me, you can ask Paul
to install the script for you.

A simple twist to this strategy is you can have a
tell-a-friend contest as well. A protégé of mine did a
tell-a-friend contest that was extremely successful.
He increased his traffic by 5-fold in that week. How?

What he did was very simple, stating whoever referred
the most visitors to his site in that week would get a
free IPOD. Slack, eh?

Let me you another killer viral marketing strategy
that very few people use.

Giving away a free e-book is a pretty common strategy.
But what I want you to do is to create an e-book for
your AFFILIATES to give away to their lists.

Let's say you have a 20-page e-book. Instead of asking
your subscribers to pass it along (which is not very
effective) you encourage your visitors to join your
affiliate program. Then you let them customize and
brand the e-book with their own affiliate links for
your products!

Now, they're motivated to tell everyone about you. Now
they're motivated to pass it along the e-book to every
single soul they know. Why? They are getting something
out of it!

That's not all. The people who read the e-book might
also become your affiliates, they will go to your
sites, create more customized e-books and they too
will pass those e-books to more people.

Do you understand the power of this? That's viral
marketing on steroid!

If you're still a little confused, check out.
http://www.websiteconversionexpert.com/viralpdf.html

And see the various brandable e-books I offer my
affiliates.

And the people who read your e-books are much better
prospects because they're pre-sold on your materials.
So they're much more likely to buy from you when they
hit your sales page.

So what are you waiting for? Start cranking your
"viral marketing" machine today. You'll see that your
traffic and sales will grow steadily with absolutely
no work on your part.

Like the infomercial guru Ron Popiel said, "Just set
it and forget it!"

Sincerely,

Dan Lok

How To Get Your Customer To Fall In Love With Your Products And Services

Copyright (c) 2006 Quick Turn Marketing International,
Ltd.

My hair grows so damn fast. I have to get a hair cut
every 3 weeks. Every time I need a haircut I go to
Peter in downtown, Vancouver.

You know… Peter actually worked in New York 10 years
ago. I guess you could say he earned his chops in New
York. And he's cut hair for many celebrities,
including Jim Carrey, etc.

Then he moved to Vancouver and opened his own salon.

Well, if Pete is good enough for Jim Carrey then he's
good enough for Dan Lok.

I've been going there for 8 years now.

Talk about customer loyalty!

Yeah… so I'm sure you are asking why am I so damn
loyal? Right?

What makes Pete different than the other hairdressers?
Why do I go back to him again and again?

Well I'll tell you. Pete works at it. He builds loyal
customers in each interaction and builds them into
every haircut he produces. He didn't attract the stars
simply because he cuts hair well (though he does). He
also offers exceptional customer service.

And I have to tell you, even if Pete's haircutting
ability wasn't 110%, I'd probably still go back. Why?
Customer service. Commitment. Quality.

So ask yourself, how do YOU build loyal customers?

The best way to build loyal customers is by using the
loyalty ladder concept. I want you to picture an
ordinary ladder.

Now consider each rung of the ladder. Each "rung" is a
"stage" of loyalty a customer may have. There are many
different stages of loyalty customers demonstrate at
each rung of the ladder:

*Raving Fan

* Devotee

* Member

* Customer

* Shopper

* Prospect

* Suspect

Let's describe each of these in more detail.

Suspect
The suspect is the lowest rung on your ladder, when a
customer starts out on your loyalty ladder. This is
when customer's are at the very bottom of your ladder.
These are people who may or may not want or need what
it is you sell. They may not have any money. They are
simply people who are not buying.

Prospect
Prospects are suspects who have taken some sort of
action like subscribing to your newsletter, giving you
their email addresses or those who have asked you for
some sort of free information. They are people who may
turn into active customers, but aren't there yet.

Customer
A customer is anyone who has actually spent money with
you. You have to differentiate between your prospects
and your customers. This is one of the reasons it is
so damn important you segment your lists. You don't
want to have everyone on ONE BIG list.

At the very least, you should have a prospect list and
customer list. You should treat your prospects and
customers very differently. You should always give
your customers more attention. Give them a better deal
than everyone else. Why? They are already paying you
for your products and services. Prospects are
important, but customers are even more important.

Member
A member is someone who buys from you more than once.
These are customers that now trust you. They feel they
belong with you in some way. Now listen up. Customers
who make two purchases are 10 times more likely to
make more than someone who makes only one purchase
with you. So anyone who is a member deserves special
attention, because if they buy twice, they are likely
to buy again.

Devotee
What's the difference between a devotee and a member?
A devotee is someone who not only buys from you, but
tells other people about you. They send you referrals.
They promote you actively. They are happy to be your
free sales force because they get so much value from
you.

Raving Fan
The next stage in the ladder is Raving Fans. Usually
only 1% to 5% of your customers become Raving Fans.
They're one of your most valuable assets. They pretty
much own everything you have. And, whatever new
products and service you come up with, they will buy
without blinking an eye.

The Raving Fan will stick with you for years as long
as you don't screw up in a major way.

There's a very strong trust and bond with you and the
Raving Fans. They trust you 100%. They want to see you
succeed. They want to see you do well. If a devotee is
someone who sells for you, a Raving Fan is someone who
can't STOP selling for you. Raving Fans tell everyone
about how fantastic you are. They talk about your
company. They love you.

These days it's more expensive than ever to get a new
customer. Most businesses in fact are acquiring their
customers at a loss or break-even point. That means
you have to get your customers to come back to you and
buy again and again.

Why? That customer isn't simply profitable to you.
They are your most important resource. What you want,
what you need is as many raving fans as you can get.

You will succeed when you sort your prospects from
suspects, move people up from prospects to customers,
from customers to raving fans.

You need to have a marketing system that automatically
moves people up the loyalty ladder as quickly as
humanly possible.

Very soon, it'll be like me and Pete. I am one of
Pete's Raving Fans. I send him clients. I sell FOR him
without him asking me to it. I write about him in my
article! I only go to him and nobody else. And I am
thrilled to show up every month, 12 times a year to
give him money. And I'll keep going to him unless he
retires from the business. That could be another 10 to
20 years.

You see how much a Raving Fan like me is worth to
Pete's business?

Sincerely,

Dan Lok

Why You Aren't Making The Money You Want To On The

Copyright © 2006 Quick Turn Marketing International,
Ltd.

Many clients come to me with problems…

The most common problem I hear from people is they
aren't making the kind of money they want to make with
their Internet business. They don't know what the
problem is and they want me to help.

I'll tell you what the problem is. Most of these
people are what I like to call opportunity seekers.
These are people that have too many sites and don't
spend any time focusing on ONE business. They may have
20 or 30 websites, with each site only breaking even
or making a few hundred dollars every month.

Most opportunity seekers are not making the money they
want or achieving their financial goals. Why?

They are making a common mistake. They have too many
sites, too many interests. This prevents them from
focusing their efforts and creating the six figure
income they dream of.

Focus Is The Key To Long-Term Success

If you want to succeed on the Internet, you are much
better-off staying focused. That means starting off
with one site or idea and perfecting it before moving
on to the next Internet adventure. Far too many people
have a get rich quick mind-set. In fact, I'd say
almost all opportunity seekers have this mind-set.

They jump from one program to another hoping one of
them will lead to success.

Opportunity seekers are always the first to jump on
the next big moneymaking bandwagon. It may be one
thing one month, another the
next month.

They may try to concentrate on affiliate marketing then
switch dramatically to e-book marketing the next.

Whatever seems to be working for others they jump into
with wild abandon, without considering their true
talents, abilities and interests.

These people are looking for some easy way to make
money. They think they can make money with Google
AdSense or just a web page, or even with a multilevel
marketing program. This is NOT how an entrepreneur
thinks! However, this is exactly how an opportunist
thinks.

They always are looking for shortcuts, and then wonder
why it isn't working.

It isn't working because you have no focus. You must
have focus. You must think like an entrepreneur. Focus
is one of the most vital aspects of your success. My
advice to these newbies is shut down 29 of your sites
and focus on one site, the one that best represents
your interests.

Optimize it. Work on refining it. Refine your sales
process and your back end on this single site and make
it successful BEFORE you move on to the next site.

Yes, I have many sites. But I am Dan Lok. You're not
there yet. Perfect your one site. THEN you can think
about moving on to other moneymaking ventures.

Horizontal Vs. Vertical Business

Many people have what I call a horizontal business. A
horizontal business has many sites in many different
niches, like hobby niches.

People who own horizontal businesses have 20 or more
separate business ventures. I recommend having a
vertical business instead. A vertical business is a
business that has depth and focus.

Having a vertical business means if you have a product
in a particular niche, like stock trading, focus on
selling products related to that and that only. Put
all your eggs in one basket and create a funnel
effect. This way you'll have one group of customers
and you can become a big fish in
a small pond.

You'll have all your eggs in one place yes… but you'll
become an expert egg layer and watch all your eggs
hatch with great success.

Make sense?

What is the problem with a horizontal business? You
aren't specialized.

It's almost impossible to make a six-figure income
with this kind of business because you don't spend
enough time on any ONE business.

When you have a vertical business, you have fine-tuned
your business so well competitors have a hard time
keeping up with you. People can't compete. You also
build a strong client base with satisfied customers.

Think Like An Entrepreneur

So, the biggest problem people have is they are
opportunity seekers.

The key is thinking like a true Internet entrepreneur.
Don't jump on the trend bandwagon. Don't ask what the
shortcuts are. An entrepreneur has a long-term vision.
You have to have a one-year, five year and ten year
vision. Find out what you want your business to look
like in the long-term.

Ask yourself, What do I want to accomplish ultimately?
Then decide whether your activities fit with your
goals. Stop jumping from one program to another. Focus
on one program, one site, and one great idea. This is
what you have to do if you want to make six figures.
It has nothing to do with your knowledge, skill set
experience etc. It has to do more with your focus.

Sit down. Think about it.

Stop jumping from one program to another and stop
getting sucked into false moneymaking schemes. Find
out what your goals are, what you want to accomplish.

This is a far superior approach. Yes, it takes a lot
of energy. But its worth it. In the long-term it's
much less tiring than diversifying your business.

Once you are an expert in your industry or niche, THEN
you can think about diversifying your business.

Making Money Online: What You Need To Know

As long as you have something to offer, making money online is not as tough as it may seem. For newcomers to the internet, the challenge of learning to navigate this entirely new world might seem daunting, but there’s really nothing to it. With a willingness to learn and a desire to make the most of your opportunities, making money online will be a piece of cake.

For most people, the real challenge is where to begin. You have to know what’s available to be able to make informed decisions. This article will spell out a few of the opportunities that exist online.

Before you get around to making money online, there are some basic issues that you have to address. You have to be realistic about what you intend to achieve, and you have to be clear on the commitment that you are making.

First, understand the reasons why you want to make some money online. This may seem really fundamental, but what do you need the money for, and how important is it to you? Keep in mind that you will have to work for the money that you earn, so unless you have some important use for the money, you’re better off not wasting your time.

Second, check out all the opportunities that exist for you online. The set of opportunities that are open to you will be largely dictated by what you can do, and the level of expertise that you have. It is usually best to stick to what you already know and love, since that area will probably be most profitable to you, both in terms of money and happiness.

Third, be discriminating with regards to the projects that you enter into. The internet is buzzing with scams and get-rich-quick schemes. You have to exercise some intelligence and discernment in choosing the projects that are right for you, not to mention the employers that you enter contracts with. The anonymity that the internet provides makes it very easy for people to be dishonest – be sure to find someone who you can trust and work with.

Fourth, do your best. Again, this is fundamental advice that shouldn’t need to be given, but many often need to be reminded from time to time. Making money online is pretty much the same as making money offline – you provide something of use to others, and you get compensated for what you provide. If you are a service provider, strive to offer superior service. If you sell products, sell those products at the best price, and be sure of their quality. In the long run, excellence is always rewarded, especially in an essentially capitalist arena like the internet.

Making money with an eBay business

Making money online has never been easier than it is now. One of the prime opportunities that exist today is with eBay. EBay, of course, is the revolutionary auction site that is now beginning to circle the globe.

As with all other business opportunities, conducting research is essential. When you partner with eBay, you are essentially becoming a merchant of sorts, using the site to reach a larger market. As a merchant, the basic questions you should be able to answer two questions: what will you sell, and where will you buy? For all the obvious reasons, you want to provide a unique product, hopefully filling a market need. The key to success is to find a profitable niche where you either can dominate the competitors or one where you have no competitors at all.

Now, there are two main types of sellers on eBay. There are business sellers and garage sellers. Garage sellers, as the term implies, are those who sell various personal knickknacks on the web, much like in a garage sale, albeit to a larger customer base. The items are usually pre-owned. More than earning a profit, garage sellers usually just want to get rid of some of their older property.

Business sellers, on the other hand, are those who operate on eBay for the primary purpose of earning a profit. While still a minority, many people are being added to this category everyday. Some have earned so much that they have found keeping their day job unnecessary. To attain this level however, you will have to keep a few things in mind.

First, treat your eBay venture like a legitimate business. The trick to making money with an eBay business is to simply treat it like one. It might start off as a hobby or a sideline, but you should very quickly get serious if you want to earn significant amounts. You may want to create a business name, open separate bank accounts, and accomplishing the necessary paperwork to establish your venture. After that, give it your best shot. Offer great products at low prices, back it up with excellent customer service, and you have a recipe for success.

Second, specialize. You can’t be an expert in all the categories in eBay; you can’t understand the value of all products. To be successful, you should concentrate on just one or two areas, and focus all your energy on those areas. Become an expert in your chosen areas, and the chances of making good trades (and therefore making more money) exponentially increase.

Third, learn to communicate well. Napoleon used to tell his secretaries, “Be clear, be clear, be clear!” You must follow the same policy. Learn how to write auction listings that accurately describe your product, and don’t neglect to include all relevant details, such those involving shipping and handling, return policies, etc. Not only must you communicate well, you must communicate in a timely manner. Try to respond to all questions promptly and courteously, and try to be in touch with your winning bidders from the start of the transaction to its close. This is the secret to making money with an eBay business.

Making Money with Affiliate Programs

Affiliate marketing is a booming industry. As the internet expands, the opportunity for affiliate programs increase. Today, hundreds of thousands of people are logging into the internet each day. Each of these individuals is a potential customer – and we’re not even talking about the people who already use the internet on daily basis. Combine these two groups of people, and it is easy to see that the possibilities for affiliate programs are immense, but only if you approach the matter in a particular way. Making money with affiliate programs is not as easy as it seems.

Many people entering into affiliate programs have certain misconceptions. Because of the outlandish promises that often made by those who offer them, making money with affiliate programs seems so simple that you wonder why not all affiliate marketers are rich. Before going any further, you must understand that getting involved in affiliate programs is not an effortless path to financial security. However, it can be a better way to achieve your financial goals, depending on your current circumstances. If you are dissatisfied with you job in one way or another, then you certainly should not overlook the opportunity that affiliate programs offer you.

Here are two pointers that will help you make money with affiliate programs.

Choose an affiliate program that you can sink your teeth on. By this, I mean that you should get started in an area that you naturally drawn to, a subject that you know and love. The reason for this is because the financial compensation you receive at the very beginning might not as much as you received in your previous occupation. Getting involved in an affiliate program is essentially like starting your own home business. You have to expect that the start-up stage will not be easy street. On the contrary, you will probably have to work long hours at the beginning, and perhaps pinch some pennies along the way. All these sacrifices might be too hard to make if you get involved in a business that you do not love. However, if you choose a business area that you are naturally inclined to and your work won’t be work at all; it will be a labor of love. Profits will pour in, sooner or later, from a labor of love.

Build a content site. A content site is a commonly utilized tool in affiliate marketing. A content site is simply a website that is designed and organized around a specialized theme. The site usually contains education materials and other tools that would be of use to its visitors. These materials and tools are themselves intricately related to the products and services that you hope to sell. You will want to provide concrete information about your goods, and try to persuade your visitors that your goods will be of benefit to them. With a good, well-organized website, making money with affiliate programs is considerably less difficult.

Home Business Marketing: Advertising on a Tight Budget

For small businesses, advertising can often be costly, often prohibitively so. Many small business owners find it difficult to engage in home business marketing, because it just seems to be so expensive. However, there are many ideas that you can use to increase your visibility.

Here are some ideas that can be very useful in home business marketing:

Start a frequent buyer club. Your loyal customers should be rewarded for patronizing your store. That way, they will give their business to you, and no one else. It might be helpful for you to track the purchase information of your customers, and once they’ve reached a certain threshold, give them a gift certificate or a rebate. Alternatively, you can give them future discounts, or simply a free gift. These ideas can be varied almost endlessly, so get creative and experiment with what works best for you.

Use your phone time wisely. There are many ways to use your phone time for advertising purposes. Again, you simply have to be a little creative. For example, when you put your customers on-hold, instead of playing some music, remind them of some of the upcoming events concerning your company. For, example, invite them to a sale.

Give away business cards. This is pretty intuitive, so you really shouldn’t need someone to tell you this. However, a reminder always helps. Business cards are one of the most inexpensive ways you can advertise, so to neglect their use would be pretty foolish. As much as possible, the card should have an attractive design, and it must include all information relevant to your business. Give your business cards to just about everyone that you meet. You never know when your little “gift” will earn you money.

Utilize e-mail signatures. Whenever you mail a potential customer, furnish him or her with your complete business information. This helps you to form associations in your prospect’s mind – you want them to remember the business when they think of your name, and vice versa.

Website promotion. Aside from the usual methods of getting listed in online directories and optimizing for the search engines, you should seriously consider other, less prestigious methods. For example, try to include your URL on just about every surface available – on your business cards, on the uniforms of employees, and on all promotion items such as key chains, coffee mugs, and T-shirts. You want people to be reminded of your site everywhere they turn.

Home business marketing is not as difficult as it may first seem. As long as you have a good supply of creativity, you should be able to generate enough ideas to promote your business. The ideas enumerated here should get you started, but make sure you think up your own variations!

Affiliate Programs: Making Extra Money Online

There are many ways of making extra money online, but one way that stands out is affiliate marketing. In affiliate marketing, you join an affiliate program, and essentially help your merchant partner to sell his goods and services, either through direct salesmanship or through advertising. For your assistance in this regard, you will receive a percentage of the sales that you generate for your partner.

Having your own website is essential to your success with affiliate programs. As long as you have a well-designed site with a regular flow of visitors, making extra money online will not be too difficult. Most of the work you will have to do in affiliate marketing involves creating, improving, and tweaking your website so that you can achieve more traffic.

Here are two tips you might want to consider when building and upgrading your web site. Following these tips will help you create a better site, thus enabling to generate superior returns for your efforts.

Understand your market:
Your site should cater to a specific market. Resist the temptation to be a site that caters to “one and all”, for you will make less money that way. Instead, analyze the current market and decide on the area that can yield the most profit for you. Without specialization, your efforts will be wasted in too many directions, with the result that you may achieve mediocre results in all areas, but never outstanding results in one or two areas. Spreading yourself too thin is a very real danger and must be avoided. You’re much better off choosing a topic or product that you know and love, than choosing five topics or products that you don’t understand. You won’t be making extra money online if you don’t specialize.

Advertise intelligently:
Because you are a website builder, you must always keep the end product in mind. Will your finished site be something that people will want to get more of? Will they want to visit regularly, or will they be turned off by what’s there? Many site builders make the mistake of just putting up banners and links wherever they can. If it were you visiting the site, would you actually bother to click on these ads, especially when they are nothing more but a nuisance? You might manage to earn a few dollars using this method, but in the long term, you couldn’t possibly hope for long-term success. Try to build your site with your readers in mind, and provide for what they will need and want.

In affiliate marketing, as in all other businesses, many people scrape by while others make a fortune. The difference lies in the strategies that they adopt, and in the intelligence they apply to their efforts. You owe it to yourself to be included in the elite few. As long as stay committed to excellence, making extra money online will not be difficult for you.

Avoiding Dishonest Home Business Schemes

Should You Take The Bait?

Unscrupulous home business schemes are everywhere these days. If you surf the internet, it seems as though everywhere you turn, you are inundated with ads that tell you how to earn more money than you are now, often for doing something that is easy and non-consequential. These ads usually look like this:

Be part of one of America's Fastest Growing Industries!

Earn thousands of dollars a month, from your home, at only fifteen minutes a day!

Want to Learn The Big Secret of the Internet Millionaires! Click Here!

Weve all seen these types of ads both on and off the internet. They are appealing, sure. Who doesnt want to earn ten thousand dollars a month for fifteen minutes of work a day? But you have to be careful. Almost all get-rich-quick schemes are designed to part you from your hard-earned money.

Not all work-at-home opportunities deliver on their promises. What many promoters of home business schemes wont tell you is thatyou often have to work for many hours before you earn a single cent. This is dishonesty at its worst, for by now you should know that there is no such thing as something for nothing. Even if you are operating from a solid home business, you will have to work hard and work smartly if you want to be successful. If anybody else tells you otherwise, watch out. Something is probably not quite right.

Ask Questions!

Avoiding dishonest home business schemes is strictly a matter of common sense. Since you will be putting your time and money into this venture, you should definitely do some research. You do this by asking intelligent questions.

Some questions you must ask your work-at-home sponsors include the following:

What is the total cost of the program being offered? Dishonest program often carry hidden costs with them. Be sure to check the fine print before proceeding. Ask for all the costs involved in the program, and ask them to clarify exactly what you get in return for your money.

What exactly willI have to do? Your tasks must be clearly outlined, with every step clearly defined. Confusion on this point is often the source of future contention. Again, do not be carried away with promises that you wont have to do much to earn your money. If it sounds too good to be true, it most probably is.

Will I be paid a salary or will my pay be based on commission? This is another point that can cause trouble. Obviously, the compensation package you receive should be well-thought out and commensurate to the service that you will be rendering.

When will I get my first paycheck? Beware of programs that will pay for your services much later after you have done the work. This might cause you short-term financial difficulties.

By exercising a little bit of common sense and asking intelligent questions, you should be able to avoid dishonest home business schemes.

Moneymaking Mothers: Business Opportunities for Stay at Home Moms

Moms Need Money Too

For centuries, mothers have been expected to accomplish many things, at least on the realm of family and the home. Until recently, however, moms have not been very welcome to the marketplace. Many misconceptions abound about the working mom, but with the growth of the internet, many of these misconceptions are being dispelled, and new opportunities are opening up for an important part of our society. Now, more than ever before, there are business opportunities for stay at home moms.

The traditional structure of the family has been something like this: it was the fathers role to work and earn money, while it was the mothers role to take care of the children, tend to the house, and accomplish various domestic chores. This is still the dominant pattern of the family today, but what has changed is that the mom, while still staying at home, can earn a little bit of income for herself. With the use of the internet, the millions of mothers now have the chance to ply their skills and talents in the marketplace.

Business Opportunities

Before we get into the opportunities that exist online, we must mention that business opportunities for stay at home moms exist outside the worldwide web. Many mothers are already interested in a great many things that they could profit financially from. For example, a woman who loves gardening might start her own plant nursery, and run that business from her own backyard. Alternatively, a woman who is an especially proficient baker might start selling her wares to her neighbors. As long as you can offer something of value at a reasonable price, there is no shortage of opportunity for you. In fact, you will be creating your own opportunities, by putting forth a superior product for an excellent price!

That being said, it is probably the internet that offers the most opportunity to stay at home moms, especially opportunities that did not exist before. The vagaries of the marketplace often make it hard for mothers to participate, since they have so many tasks to attend to in the home. Today, however, mothers can work from home, for a few hours a day, and earn a tidy income from doing so.

Here are two business opportunities for stay at home moms:

Freelance Work.
Freelance work is ideal for many mothers, since they do not have to work on an ongoing basis, but rather from project to project. This means that the mom need only work when she wants to, has when she has the time to. As a freelancer, the stay at home mom can choose the projects that she is interested in, and be aware of deadlines before taking on any assignment.

Affiliate Programs.
Affiliate programs are excellent business opportunities for stay at home moms. Affiliate programs can produce a nice stream of residual income something that all mothers can definitely use. By setting up a content site, a stay at home mother can earn money even while going about her other activities. When she has a bit of free time, she can tweak her site and make sure that it is attractive to visitors.

As you can see, business opportunities for stay at home moms exist. It is up to you to take advantage of what is available, and to give it your best until you reap the rewards for your efforts.

Profiting From Internet Home Based Businesses

These days, very few people can ignore the opportunity that the internet offers. Unless you are among the affluent few, internet home based businesses can give you a very large boost in your income. Thus, it is important that you understand how they work and how you can make such businesses work for your benefit.

Internet home based businesses can help you earn a salary, and they can help you earn residual income as well. Residual income, of course, is money that you earn for a one-time effort, as opposed to a salary, which you only receive as long as you keep working. Residual income allows you to profit from something that you have already accomplished in the past, such as when an author receives royalties on a book that he has written, even if that book was written twenty-five years ago.

If your concern is earning a salary, you will have no dearth of opportunities online. As long as you have a specialized skill, you should be able to find work. Telecommuting is now an accepted practice for most companies, so take advantage of it. You can sell your personal services on both a salaried basis and a freelance basis, whichever you prefer. Both have their specific advantages and disadvantages, so choose carefully. If you become a salaried employee, for example, you will necessarily have less control of your time, but a more regular income. A freelancer, on the other hand, only gets paid for the work he actually finishes,

If your goal, however, is to earn residual income, then affiliate programs should be an important part of your strategy. Affiliate programs, as you know, are programs that allow you to advertise and sell someone else’s goods and services for a commission. Unlike what most people think, however, succeeding in affiliate marketing actually does require work – lots of it, at least in the beginning. Finding a good partner merchant and selecting a reasonable compensation package takes quite a bit of research, something that most people are unwilling to do. However, it is very important that you lay the right foundation, so spend some time here and look up what if currently available.

As with every business matter, being able to trust you partner is important, so look up on your partner merchant’s record. If you know anyone who has done business with them before, be sure to ask them about the experience. You might even sacrifice higher returns with a relatively unreliable company to work with a more established one.

Once you have established a relationship with a suitable partner, all that’s left is developing your site. There are many resources on this on the internet, be sure to look them up. Site building software is also available, so check that out if you feel that you need more assistance. As long as you put a good effort into the creation of your site, your internet home based business will flourish, and you’ll stand a good chance of earning through it for years to come.

Laying the Right Foundation

Starting a Home Business on a Budget

Why a Budget is Important

Striking out on your own can be a very tricky proposition. Starting your own business may be exciting, but it is also inherently full of risk. Unless you get yourself going from the right foot, then the chances of achieving success are very small. Conversely, however, as long as you have the right foundation, and keep working on that foundation, success is almost an automatic thing. It is vital that you run your home business on a budget, if you aspire for long-term success.

One of the most important parts of running a business is operating on a budget. Many people (mostly unsuccessful ones) prefer going with the flowthan with actually setting goals and budgets. For the most part, this attitude is a mistake. Unless you have an incredible memory and unnatural clear-sightedness, planning for both the present and the future is a prerequisite to success, no matter how you define that elusive concept.

Because this is an article about home businesses, then we will begin by defining success as the growth and eventual profitability of your particular business. By growth we mean that the business will expand, hopefully outgrowing your home and eventually participating in the corporate arena. By profitability, we mean that the business will become a cash-generating machine, so much so that you attain financial freedom, and never have to work a single day again if you dont feel like it. This article argues that in order to achieve growth and profitability, discipline is needed, and plans must be made and acted upon.

Crafting a Budget

One of the most important plans you must conceptualize is that of your budget. Many businesses, even if they have great ideas and wonderful products, still fail for lack of proper planning and efficient allocation of resources. Avoid this mistake. Only a home business on a budget can ever be truly successful.

First, make it a habit to write down, on paper, both what you earn and what you spend, on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis. This is the least that you can do. Look over what you have written down and you will easily see the areas that can be improved upon, especially in the expense column. It is astonishing how many expenses we never notice until we get them down in paper. As the business grows larger, accounting knowledge might be needed. If you have neither the time nor the inclination to acquire the knowledge yourself, find someone who does.

Second, analyze the figures and determine the areas where you can cut costs, and where you should add capital. Every business has areas that generate above-average returns, as well areas that under-perform. As much as possible, redirect your resources to the projects and ideas that give you the most return. This is common sense.

Lastly, stick to your budget. A plan not acted upon is essentially useless, and a budget not followed is as useful as a page of doodles. Once youve written down and finalized your budget, do not make any departures from it unless absolutely necessary. Be disciplined its the only way youll get anywhere. By running your home business on a budget, you are securing your future at a small expense to the present.

Some of the advantages of working at home include

The Advantages of Working at Home

For many people, working at home is the penultimate dream. After all, many of us dislike our jobs; and perhaps we dislike the amounts we receive for doing those jobs even less. Some of us also have difficulty dealing with our superiors, who may or may not be good people. Given all these factors, working at home, in the peace and comfort of your own abode, seems like an incredibly good idea.

If you are thinking of working at home, then you must first consider all the variables that will be involved in your potential decision. Working at home, like working outside, carries its own set of advantages and disadvantages. It would be good for you to scrutinize each argument, and examine how much weight such arguments should have on your decision.

Being your own boss
Most people resent having to work for the benefit of someone else. We are all naturally selfish; we want our work to primarily benefit us. As an employee, your work primarily benefits the company that you work for, and your boss. You receive a salary, but the amount you receive does not correspond to the full value of the labor that you rendered.

Being in charge of your own time
It is frustrating to have your time subject to the caprices of others. How many fathers have missed their sons baseball or football games because they had to attend an important meeting? Working at home means that you are the only one who takes control of your time. You can do what you want to do, when you want to do it.

Possibility of large gains
As weve mentioned before, when you work for a salary, you only receive a portion of the value of the service you rendered. But if you own your own venture and are working at home, you not only receive the fruits of your own labor, you have the possibility of receiving the fruits of anothers labor, such as when you hire your own employees. If your business takes off, then you have a chance to earn more money in a year than you otherwise wouldve gotten throughout your entire lifetime, had you stuck with your regular job.

Being able to choose your associations
Not being stuck in an office means that you wont have to put up with people that you cant stand. Instead, you can choose who you want to do business with, and ignore those who arent as relevant.

Now, working at home is not a financial cure-all. In fact, you can expect to have a rough time, especially at the beginning. However, as long as you stay disciplined and do the work that you have to do, you can expect your venture to grow, and your profits to grow as well.

Why Should You Start Your Own Home Business?

Starting a home business is the dream of many people; in fact, it has become the ideal for millions. If you are reading this article, the chances are high that you are one who believes that there is much more to life than just waking up each morning and working the rest of the day for a wage.

Theres nothing wrong with working for a wage, mind you especially if it pays the bills! However, an increasing number of people are finding that working for someone else is not very rewarding. After all, as an employee it is not likely that you are being compensated according to your real value to the company. In other words, you only get a small percentage of the fruits of your labors your boss gets the lions share.

Once you realize this, you basically have two choices: you can stay on the same path that youve been for many years as an employee, or you can strike out on your own in hopes of getting more out of life.

Deciding between these two extremes is not easy, but you will have to make the choice at some point or another. Do you want to be someone who works for others, or do you want to have other people work for you? Do want your time and energy to be spent in enriching someone else, or do you want your efforts to benefit you directly? Do you want to spend the rest of your life working for a boss, or as the boss?

Once you realize that the rewards for employers and employees are significantly different, and that entrepreneurs can expect to have more success than wage earners, then the choice should be easy to make. Having your own home business, being your own boss, and having other people work for you is the key to your long term success. As a wage earner, the amount of money you earn is limited to the number of hours in the day. For example, if you are a secretary getting paid $30 an hour, and you work for a standard eight-hour day, you will earn $240 daily. Thats all youll get, unless you work overtime. The moment you stop working, you stop earning. In essence, you personally exchange your time, energy, and skills for a few bucks.

Now, lets say that you decide to start your own home business instead. Because you are an experienced secretary, you know what it takes to be a good one. You hire three young employees and start a service that offers secretarial services to those who need it. You pay your employees $20 an hour and charge $30 to your clients, netting you a clean $10 for every hour that your employees work at very little extra effort to you. If all three work for eight hours, then you just made the $240 you used to earn as a secretary yourself even if you barely lifted your finger. What youre doing, of course, is exchanging the time, energy, and skills of other people for money the highway to becoming rich.

So You Want To Work at Home? Read This First

The dream to work at home is a staple in most peoples minds. What most people dont know is that there can be drawbacks to working at home as well. As someone who wants to start your own home based business, you should be aware of these pitfalls, so that you can prepare in advance for whatever inconvenience they may pose.

Lack of financial security.
Working at home and starting your own home based business carries risk. Unlike a salary, you will not be receiving a fixed amount each month. Theres a large possibility that the compensation you receive will be small in comparison to your regular job, especially at the beginning. The upside, of course, is that you also stand to gain much. Some of the biggest, most profitable businesses today were first small home start-ups. Companies like Microsoft, The Body Shop, and Coca-Cola are examples of companies that were first run from the proverbial garage.

Having to take charge of your own time.
Time can either be put to good, profitable use, or it can be wasted. If you are not a disciplined person, then you might have a tough time making the venture work. After all, being at home means that you are comfortable perhaps too comfortable. You can surf the net, watch TV, fix dinner, play with the kids, shoot some hoops, talk with your friends, read a book, take a nap there are so many things that threaten to eat up your time when youre at home. If you really want to work at home, you should first make sure that you can carve up a good amount of time to spend on your business. You should have the ability to set a schedule and stick with it; otherwise you might be heading for financial ruin. However, if you are the kind of person who is willing and able to set your goals and work towards them, then having control of your own time is an incredible advantage. You will be able to set your priorities, manage your tasks, and minimize the waste of your time things that are difficult to accomplish when you are in someone elses employ.

Potential isolation.
Because you are not forced to interact with other people, you might fall into a tendency to cut yourself off from most daily interactions. This is a danger that those with more conservative or shy personalities face. To counteract this, you simply have to allot a portion of your time to meet friends and meet new people. Never get too engrossed in your work to the detriment of your social life; youll just suffer in the end.

Dont let this little list discourage you from taking the plunge! Thats exactly what most people do, which is why you dont see a whole bunch of truly rich people in your neighborhood. Scan down this list and fix in your mind how you intend to overcome these obstacles in your path to riches. Knowing yourweaknesses is strength never forget that.

Home Based Businesses: A Recipe for Success?

Starting your own home based business is not always an easy decision to make. Home based businesses, after all, do not seem to be very secure, nor are they prestigious. However, before you get discouraged and start enumerating the reasons why you feel that your little home based business cannot possibly work, you should take some time to read the following stories.

A long time ago, there was a young drug store clerk named Asa Candler. Candler decided to start his own home based business after purchasing a beverage recipe from the town doctor for $500. That amount represented his entire life savings, but Candler was dedicated to making his home based business work. Today, that venture is a multibillion dollar company with an unmatched international distribution network. It owns the most recognizable brand name in the world. What is this company? Youve probably heard of it. Its called Coca-Cola.

One day, Anita Roddick, a British woman whose husband was frequently away on business, decided to make her hobby a moneymaking venture. Roddick, with little to do whenever her husband left town, didnt choose to watch soap opera reruns or take aerobic classes. Instead, she took to concocting with various potions in her garage. She gave a few of these potions to friends and found out that they were very popular, so popular that she was soon selling them all over her neighborhood. This home business, from such inauspicious beginnings, is now an internationally-recognized franchise that does billions of dollars of business each year. What is this business? Its called the Body Shop.

History bristles with examples of large corporations that started close to home. Truly, great things start from small beginnings. Did you know, for example, that Microsoft was started in a garage, by Bill Gates and Paul Allen? Looking at the company now, thats pretty hard to believe, but its true. Back then, Gates and Allen were just two geeks who were more interested in writing softwarethen they were studying in school. In fact, Gates dropped out of Harvard, worked on his home business, and produced MS-DOS the rest is history. Bill Gates is, of course, currently the richest man in the world, and his company, Microsoft, dominates the software industry.

Now, you may never aspire to reach the heights that Candler, Roddick, and Gates have. But it doesnt mean you shouldnt try. The purpose of this article has been to remind you that even the greatest of successes were at first small ventures, not unlike the one that you are planning to build. As long as you infuse imagination, creativity, and plain old hard work into your business ideas, there is no reason to believe that you will fail. Even if you do, you should simply pick yourself up, learn from your mistakes, and push forward. You never know: your home based business might become the next Microsoft, or the next Coke! Get excited and make it happen!

Is Working at Home For You?

What if?

Working at home has always been a dream for millions of people. After all, who want to spend their lives in a crummy job for very little pay? All of us, no matter what our profession or nationality, want a little more out of life than what we actually have now. Working at home seems like the answer to so many of our problems. We ask ourselves, What would life be like if I didnt have to wake up each morning and spend the day doing something that I dont like? How would I feel if I could work at home?

I can answer that question. You would feel great. If you didnt have to wake up each day to go to work, youll have a terrific time, assuming that you didnt like your work in the first place. If you love your job and have a rip-roaring good time each day, then you probably dont need to read the rest of this article. This article is written for those who are undecided about one thing: the decision to keep their current job, or to start working at home. In other words, those who want to work at home.

Decision, decisions

If you decide to work at home, you are in effect trying to become self-employed. Or an entrepreneur, if you will. This decision should not be taken lightly. It is not for everyone. A home based business, as comfortable as it may seem, carries a significant amount of risk with it. There is always a possibility that the business will fail. However, if you make good decisions right from the start and set a solid foundation for the years ahead, you will drastically increase your chances of success. Starting your own home business is risky; theres no doubt about it. But you also stand to realize massive gains, perhaps even amass a fortune!

There are many advantages that will accrue to you if you decide to work at home. For many, not having to go to the office daily is incentive enough. After all, havent you had the experience of wanting to sleep for a few more minutes, but had to get up because you were late for work? Weve all experienced that. When you work at home, you begin to take charge of your life. You take control of your time and decide how to spend it. Of course, this can be a two-edged sword if you are not the disciplined type. You might end up procrastinating on your tasks, or perhaps not doing them at all. This will most certainly cause your work at home bid to fail. So before you decide to try and work at home, ask yourself, are you disciplined enough? Being at home will present you with countless opportunities to shirk your work. Unless you can trust yourself to do the right thing, youre better off earning a regular wage. But if youre the type of person who has the courage and the will to go after your dreams, then by all means! Youre the type of person who has nothing to lose by working at home, and everything to gain.

Making Money Online: What You Need To Know

Making Money Online: What You Need To Know

As long as you have something to offer, making money online is not as tough as it may seem. For newcomers to the internet, the challenge of learning to navigate this entirely new world might seem daunting, but theres really nothing to it. With a willingness to learn and a desire to make the most of your opportunities, making money online will be a piece of cake.

For most people, the real challenge is where to begin. You have to know whats available to be able to make informed decisions.

Keep in mind that you will have to work for the money that you earn, so unless you have some important use for the money, youre better off not wasting your time.

The anonymity that the internet provides makes it very easy for people to be dishonest be sure to find someone who you can trust and work with.

Fourth, do your best. Again, this is fundamental advice that shouldnt need to be given, but many often need to be reminded from time to time. Making money online is pretty much the same as making money offline you provide something of use to others, and you get compensated for what you provide. If you are a service provider, strive to offer superior service. If you sell products, sell those products at the best price, and be sure of their quality. In the long run, excellence is always rewarded, especially in an essentially capitalist arena like the internet.

Running A Home Business

( What You Need To DO ) Copyright © See Meun Hwa

http://www.AffiliateWebBusiness.com

Running a business from your home is no joke. There are a lot of details that you will need to keep track of if you aspire to be successful. Keep in mind that a home business is in essence not much different from traditional ones. The aim of your business is to make money, remember that. It has to be as efficient and as profitable as you can make it.

Here are the cardinal rules of running your own home business.

Know yourself:

You have to have at least a passing knowledge of yourself to be successful in any endeavor. Its cliché, but you have to understand yourself. By examining yourself, you should be able to pinpoint your strengths and weaknesses. You’ll want to capitalize on the former and minimize the effects of the latter. For example, if you are a people person, you might want to handle the service section of your home business. If you are the more analytical type, you might consider becoming your own financial planner and leave the service section to someone else. Again, focus on what you can do well, and apply that skill to your business.

Know your business:

Know your trade inside and out, and exhaust all efforts to be up-to-date with all the advances in your realm of business. Read up on what you have to on a regular basis. Newspapers, trade magazines, and business books might be a good place to start. Remember that it is ideas that make real money. Exercise some creativity, call up a few original ideas, and you will have an edge over the competition. Alternatively, you can also combine pre-existing ideas and apply them to your business. By creating or synthesizing ideas, you might be able to create a niche for yourself, which should be the goal of every business.

Know your customers:

There is a saying in America, and it goes something like this: “The customer is always right.” However, consider this saying from Japan: “The customer is God.” No matter which saying you believe to be more accurate, you must treat your customers like they are the most valuable persons in your life. After all, it is they that make it possible for you to make a living; it is only proper that you treasure them and that you look out for them, within reason. Study your customers. Try to put yourself in their shoes, anticipate their concerns, and provide for what they want and need.

Under-commit, but over-perform. Amaze people with the level of service you offer, or the quality of the goods that you sell. Exert all reasonable efforts to exceed their expectations. If they want something done by tomorrow, have it done by this afternoon. If they expect a bill of a hundred dollars, give them one for just ninety-five dollars. By doing things a little better than everyone else, your customers will come to associate you with excellence. And who doesn’t want to do business with someone excellent?

Running a home business is fraught with risk, but it can also be a vehicle for huge rewards. However, by studying yourself and your business, and by offering excellent service, you will have a recipe for success. Ignore your fears and take the plunge – you’ll be glad you did. )
